Investment Strategy

Underperforming assets, run the H1VE way.

Buy mismanaged, not the story

Stripper wells and low-rate ESP wells sit at the tail of the decline curve, where the original operator's economics stopped working. Those assets change hands at a fraction of replacement value because the seller is undercapitalized, retiring, or simply not built to manage many small producers well.

We underwrite on current cash flow and lifting cost — not on reserve narratives — which keeps entry basis low and risk contained to things we can actually control.

Operate them like they matter

Most mismanaged wells underperform for unglamorous reasons: downtime, deferred workovers, worn pumps, undersized equipment, and no one watching the numbers daily.

Bringing a neglected well back to steady, well-managed production is the single highest-return work in the portfolio. It requires attention rather than capital, and it compounds directly into margin and return on capital.

A team that has done this before

Field results come from people. Our pumpers, workover crews, and operations leads have spent careers on mature Kansas production and know the difference between a well that needs a part and a well that needs to be shut in.

We keep the operating team close to the asset and give them the authority to fix small problems immediately, which is how uptime is actually protected.

H1VE's operating system for every well

Our proprietary operating system measures every well individually: production, run time, pump performance, chemical use, power draw, and lifting cost per barrel. Automated alerts surface a failing well the day it changes, not at month end.

That visibility lets us pull levers the previous operator could not — where to send the crew today, which workover pays for itself, which well should rest, and which captured gas can be monetized. Applied consistently across a portfolio of small producers, it is what increases the revenue from every well we own.

Capture the gas instead of losing it

Associated gas on these leases is often flared, vented, or left behind the pipe because volumes are small and takeaway is limited. That is wasted energy and unnecessary emissions.

We capture and use that gas rather than release it. The result is simple: fewer emissions per barrel, and more usable energy recovered from every well we own.
